a little bit about me

Creating eye-catching phrases and
ignoring warning signs since 1983.

Academic Background

Education

I graduated in BSc Computer Science from the University of São Paulo in 2004. I am currently producing my thesis for the MSc in Computing (Multimedia & eLearning) in the Waterford Institute of Technology, Ireland, where I have been living since August 2008.

Foreign Languages

I speak fluent Portuguese and English. In 1998 I attended an advanced English course in Washington and in 2008 I took the TOEFL test (112/120, #3492374). I also possess a basic level of French.

Profession

Multimedia Systems Developer

I worked for about 2 years as a systems developer for a game development company, where I developed games for mobile phones, internet and consoles (the ancient Sega Mega Drive and Master System), as well as the supporting tools, websites and back-end technologies for these projects.

Project Manager

I was promoted to a project manager in the end of 2005. My new role involved dealing with clients, supervising online campaigns, aiding in the development of commercial proposals and the management of different kinds of professionals (programmers, graphic designers, illustrators and musicians).

Skills Acquired Through My Carreer

Seems like it is time for the dreaded bulleted skills list. I promise to keep it concise.

  • Strong programming skills for front-end and back-end development.
  • Good oral and written communication skills, ability to deal with co-workers and clients.
  • Search for perfection and creative solutions in every task undertaken.
  • Desire to learn and ability to adapt to adverse situations.

A Few Final Words

It has been very rewarding to share a little bit of who I am in this page. I strive to be professional but not exceedingly serious, and every day I look forward to exchanging experiences and listening to the people around me. You are very welcome to have a look around my website and drop me an e-mail.
